Migration Methods: There are two migration methods mentioned: cloning and manual migration. Depending on the chosen method, the web team needs to consider the following:
Method 1 – Clone 1 to 1:
– If using this method, ensure that all existing SEO settings, such as meta titles, descriptions, and keywords, are migrated over to the new site.
– Pay attention to maintaining the same URL structure, including any subdirectories or subdomains.
– Confirm that the page titles, descriptions, and keywords remain unchanged during the migration.
Method 2 – Manual Migration:
If opting for manual migration, the web team should take note of the following:
– Content migration: Ensure that all heading tags (H1 to H6) are migrated correctly to the new site.
– URL migration: Migrate URLs from the old site to the new site following a one-to-one mapping.
– Page title migration: Transfer page titles from the old site to the new site without any changes.
– Description & keyword migration: Ensure that the meta descriptions and keywords are carried over to the corresponding pages on the new site.
Remember to thoroughly test the new site after migration to ensure that all elements, including URLs, meta tags, and content, are properly migrated and functioning as expected.
