Project Description: Inspired by her university mentor, literacy crusader Dr Jo Stanchfield, June Imada Lee developed a passion for raising readers, writers and thinkers. As President of the Society for Reading and Literacy (Singapore), June helped organize the first Asian Reading Congress, as well as the Visiting Authors Programme, which took American children’s authors such as Jack Gantos and Paula Danziger on a tour of primary schools in Singapore.
