Usage of HTML Headers
•  Used by Google to understand the content on your page

•  1 h1 per page

•  Use html headers in descending/ascending fashion
•  E.g. H1, H2, H3, H4, H3, H2

•  Try not to skip any

•  Have H1 on the first screen

•  Have H1 bigger than H2, H2 bigger than H3…etc

•  Do note that bolded and italics text is also taken to be more important than plain text

Image Optimisation
•  It helps to rename images prior to upload but not a must. For simplicity, rename if you want to rank that image.

•  Where possible avoid using stock images

•  Fill in alt tag with –
•  Description of the image

•  Context of image in your page

•  Dimensions of image

•  Where + when it was taken

•  Avoid using PNG file format and remember to compress

Reducing Load Of First Screen
•  Avoid having any large files for the first screen
•  Sliders

•  Animations

•  Forms

•  Avoid having elements that transit/bleed into the second screen e.g. an element that occupies space on both first and second screen

Placement Of Large Elements
•  As a general advice, you can consider placing your largest elements in the 1/3 or middle of the page
•  It will not slow down the initial load

•  It will not take so long to load that the website is assessed poorly
